 - Mutunzi Antoine .In charge of cooperatives in Ruhango District
This was announced this Thursday 17th May, by Mr.Antoine Mutunzi, the Ruhango District Cooperative Officer, while addressing the cooperatives of rice farmers in a meeting with partners that include Rwanda Agricultural Agency (RAB), Rwanda Cooperative Agency (RCA), and Ministry of Agriculture.
In his speech Mr.Mutunzi said that there is a need of union of cooperatives to increase earnings from the rice industry.
He continued saying that it is shameful to have only two cooperatives supplying rice to such as big modern processing Unit, which is currently enriching its operators only.
Participants are exhorted to own the establishment of the Union because they are primary beneficaries instead of waiting for the intervention of sponsors. “You should make the first step to be part of the union and shape your future”, Read more
Employees of Ruhango district are exhorted to accompany whoever citizen comes up with any creative and entrepreneurial idea and start their own companies in their respective departments to trigger a sustainable development.
This was announced yesterday on 1st May, 2012 by Mr. MBABAZI François Xavier, the Mayor of Ruhango District in meeting with the employees of the district while celebrating the Labor Day at district level.
In his speech, the Mayor encourages employees to give much value to entrepreneurs and support the citizens to fight laziness and come up with many innovative activities. ‘’It is the responsibility of each employee to help the citizen make associations and mobilize them to join institutions which provide entrepreneurial advice, ’’The Mayor says. Monday 16 April 2012, The President of the Republic of Rwanda, His Excellence Paul KAGAME, officially opened the cassava Processing Unit located at Rutabo Cell of Kinazi Sector, in Ruhango District. This Unit was put up by The Rwandan Development Bank (BRD), in the name of the Government of Rwanda. It can process 60 tones of cassava per day and produce 20 tones of flour. Read more

"Remembrance: an occasion to meditate on history and condemn bad deeds which have characterized it"This are words which were pronounced by various Speakers in the commemorative ceremony beginning the 18th week of mourn in memory of the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis, at Ruhango District level.
The 7th April 2012 marks the start of the 18th week of mourn in memory of the 1994 Genocide perpetrated against Tutsis. At Ruhango District Level, the week started with a march in silence from the main road to the District Genocide Memorial Site located near the District Office. Here, bunches of flowers were deposited on graves where bodies of innocent people killed in the 1994 Genocide are kept. At the Memorial Site, Representatives of Different Churches and Religious Organizations also pronounced prayers requesting the Almighty God to stay with the Survivors of the 1994 Genocide and assist them in all hardships. Commemorations continued on the sports ground located behind the District office, where different messages were delivered. Read More

This is a statement made by various speakers during the launching ceremonies of One Tree Project, which took place at GS Mutima located in Ntongwe Sector.
On Tuesday, 20th March, 2012 The Project “One tree per Child” was officially launched by the Southern Province Executive Secretary, IZABIRIZA Jeanne together with the Coordinator of Cooperation (Jumelage) at Rhenanie Palatinate Office in Kigali.

A modern Market for livestock in Bweramana Sector, Ruhango District was officially opened on Wednesday, 13th March 2012 by Dr Otto Vianney MUHINDA, Director of Veterinary Services in Rwanda Agriculture Board (RAB).

From Monday to Tuesday, ie 12th and 13th March 2012, a seminar on improvement of Banana crops was held at Ruhango District Office. This workshop was organized by Rwanda Agricultural Board and the beneficiaries are the in charge of Social Welfare and development at cell level and the in charge of agriculture at sector level. Participants to the workshop decided to work hard and sensitize the population on banana crops improvement so that the production can considerably increase and favor the betterment of the life of banana growers.
Monday, 12th and Tuesday 13th March 2012, a workshop on banana crops was organized by Rwanda Agricultural Board (RAB). The purpose of this workshop was to equip the in charge of Social Welfare and Development at Cell level and the in Charge of Agriculture at Sector level from five Sectors of Ruhango District, ie Ruhango, Ntongwe, Kinazi, Mbuye and Byimana Sectors, with the techniques of planting banana in a modern way and the knowledge on banana diseases. Thursday 9th February 2012, The Mayor of Ruhango District, MBABAZI François Xavier officially launched a three week Campaign on soil erosion eradication on hills surrounding the valley of Mukunguli. Wednesday, January 11, 2011. The President of the Senate, Honorable Dr NTAWUKULIRYAYO Jean Damascène paid a courtesy visit to two Secondary Schools located in Byimana Sector, Ruhango District. These Schools are, The School of Sciences of Byimana, commonly known as Ecole des Sciences de Byimana and the School Commonly known as Ecole Notre Dame de Lourde de Byimana.
In this visit, the President of the Senate of Rwanda was accompanied by his wife and two visitors from the USA. These are Dr John and Ruhumuriza Vianney, a Rwandan with American citizenship, who has been living in America for 30 years.
Dr NTAWUKURIRYAYO explained that the purpose of this visit was a simple recognition to the School where he did his a Secondary School Cycle. He also announced that the American visitors with him assist Byimana School of Sciences with books, so that this school can maintain the culture of Excellence.. Read more

Mid-term assessment of Imihigo, an essential exercise for better implementation

The Rwandan Population must avoid wasting time on unnecessary cases in courts of justice; instead, they have to devote their time to development activities. This was stated by the Mayor of Ruhango District, MBABAZI François Xavier, on Thursday, January 5th, 2012 while closing the session dedicated to solving problems of the population, under the Good Governance Month.
"The time that leaders use to receive the population may not only be a moment of addressing their problems but also an occasion to the population to advice leaders on how to improve services”. Since the end of February 2012 Ruhango cassava milling Factory located at Rutabo, Kinazi Sector, will be operational. This information was delivered by a representative of Rwanda Development Bank, during a Consultative meeting of stakeholders on cassava production and transformation held in December 2011, at Kinazi administrative sector’s Office. The purpose of this meeting was to develop strategies of increasing cassava production and make a study on the way the cassava processing Unit will operate. Read more
